Mix 08 Keynote
Posted by Dan Rigsby on 5th March 2008
I just finished watching the Mix 08 Keynote (via live feed)and commenting about it with my twitter buddies. This has always been an exciting event, and Microsoft never ceases to amaze me by they they introduce every year. They primary focused on Internet Explorer 8 and Silverlight 2.0. You can get them both right now:
- Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1
- Silverlight 2.0 Beta 1 (bottom of page)
Check out the Hard Rock Cafe Memorabilia site to have IE install Silverlight 2.0 for you, and for a great demo of what you can do with Deep Zoom based on the Sea Dragon research project
If you get a chance, I urge you to head over to www.visitmix.com and watch the keynote and some of the breakout sessions they have over the next couple of days. The sessions will be available within 24 hours after they occur. Also check out Tim Sneath’s blog. He did an excellent job of giving us a play-by-play during the keynote: http://blogs.msdn.com/tims/archive/2008/03/05/mix08-keynote-live-blog.aspx.
We will be hearing more about all of the exciting technologies coming out of mix over the coming weeks. Including more about the ASP.Net MVC framework.
